Refrigerator and Freezer Retirement Program

RefridgeratorNow is a great time to retire your old refridgerator or freezer

Old, inefficient refrigerators and freezers cost more to operate and generate a higher demand on the electrical grid.

Contact us to retire your refrigerator and/or freezer (up to 2 appliances per household) and receive $50 per appliance and:

  • Free pick-up, transportation and drop-off of your appliance(s) at the landfill, and
  • Payment of the landfill tipping fee (covers cost of refrigerant and white metal recycling)

Terms and Conditions

To receive the $50 rebate per appliance (maximum two appliances per household) and to participate in the Refrigerator and Freezer Retirement Program your refrigerator and/or freezer must be:

  • 5 years or older
  • in current use (i.e. plugged in)
  • the owner of the appliance(s) must sign off on the application form and be present at the time of appliance pick-up

To arrange an appliance pick-up:

 

  1. Call us at 867.393.7063 or toll free in Yukon at 1.800.661.0408, ext. 7063 to enroll in the program.
  2. You will be contacted by the transportation company to arrange a pick-up time for the appliances.
  3. You must be present at time of pick-up of the appliances.
